Meet Brenda! She is a bilingual (Spanish/English) doula, mother of two, and psychology student. She has a background in healthcare and hospice care, and somewhere along the way, she found herself in birth work—and ended up loving it!
One of her favorite parts of being a doula is getting to know families and being someone they can feel comfortable with and trust. She loves educating her clients, answering their questions, helping them understand their options, and making sure they feel supported and heard throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
Spanish is her native language, so she provides support in both English and Spanish. This is especially important to her because she wants families to feel comfortable communicating, asking questions, and receiving the information they need before making decisions about their care and birth experience.
She holds an Associate of Science in Psychology and is currently continuing her education in psychology with a focus on forensic psychology. She is also a CNA, QMA, and CPR certified, with experience in both long-term care and hospice care.
Outside of work and school, she is a mom first, so her two children keep her pretty busy! She loves traveling, going to concerts, boxing, and spending time with her family. There is rarely a dull moment in her household, and she always finds herself doing something—whether that’s learning something new or working toward her next goal. She can be a bit of an overachiever sometimes!
As a doula, she believes there isn’t one “right” way to give birth. Every woman, pregnancy, and birth experience is different. Her role is to meet families where they are, help them understand their choices, and be in their corner through it all.
She looks forward to getting to know you and supporting you throughout your journey!
