Emilea Herkel is a Christian doula serving families throughout Northeast Indiana through Back to Eden Doula Services. She lives with her husband, their children, and her mother, and has a deep passion for supporting mothers and families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey.
Emilea’s love for birth work began through her own experiences as a mother. Witnessing the beauty, strength, and transformation that comes with bringing a child into the world inspired her to help other families feel supported, informed, and empowered during this special season of life. She believes every birth is beautiful and deserving of compassionate, individualized care.
Emilea is currently completing her Birth Doula Certification through Childbirth International (CBI) and has received training and mentorship through Back to Eden Doula Services, where she continues to expand her knowledge and skills in supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
As a follower of Christ, Emilea views birth as a sacred gift from God and considers it an honor to walk alongside families as they welcome their babies. Her goal is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support while creating a calm and encouraging environment for both mothers and their support teams.
In addition to her doula work, Emilea has worked as a professional house cleaner for many years. Her dedication to serving others extends beyond birth work and into her everyday life, where she values creating welcoming, peaceful spaces for families.
Above all, Emilea is a proud mother to three beautiful boys who keep her life full of adventure, laughter, and love. When she isn’t supporting families, she enjoys baking, cooking, spending time outdoors, caring for animals, and making memories with her children. Her experiences as a mother have given her a deep understanding of the joys and challenges of family life, allowing her to connect with and support her clients with compassion and authenticity.
Emilea offers support tailored to each family’s unique needs and strives to build lasting relationships with the families she serves. She would be honored to be a part of your birth story and support you as you welcome your little one into the world.
