Born the oldest sister in a large family, Ronae has always been passionate about using her lived experience to come alongside others with guidance and encouragement. Through the pregnancies and births of her own five children, she developed an avid interest in all things birth and breastfeeding, and naturally desired to use her knowledge to walk alongside other growing families. It is important to her that women feel encouraged and supported throughout their birth story, wherever it takes them. She believes it is crucial for birth workers to empower women to understand their options in pregnancy and birth so they are able to provide true informed consent, playing an active role in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.
Ronae has worked and volunteered with various non-profit organizations since 2014 to support women in their breastfeeding goals, and has worked as a birth doula both privately and through area non-profits since 2020. She is double-certified as a birth doula through ICEA and Global Birth Community, and is also a Certified Lactation Specialist through Lactation Education Consultants. Ronae has experience supporting families in hospital, birth center, and home births.
Services include:
- Free initial consultation and interview to answer any questions and make sure she is the best fit for you
- "Birth Encouraged" Basic Package ($900):
Two in-home prenatal consultations to discuss your birth preferences, provide evidence-based resources to support informed decision-making, and practice comfort measures for labor
Continuous physical and emotional support throughout active labor and immediately postpartum
Two postpartum visits including complementary lactation support and weighted feeds if desired, basic newborn care information, and assistance using your baby carrier(s) if applicable
- "Mothering the Mother" Premier Package ($1100):
All services included in the Basic Package PLUS: 1) Extending one scheduled postpartum visit to include a relaxing and healing postpartum herbal bath, and 2) Your choice of two nourishing meal options from Shining Light Care Services delivered to your home.
